Tara Luna comes to us fresh from working for the esteemed Halton Pardee + Partners before moving to Coldwell Banker. United She brings a fresh perspective to Nook, having spent her entire life in sales and working closely with high profile clients to improve their lives and lifestyles.

She made the big move from Florida to Seal Beach with one of her clients, and she now lives in South Palm Desert. Tara has always loved that area, with the great school district, stunning views and just about everything she finds in El Paseo.

Tara loves to indulge her passion of looking at homes, seeing the variety of structures and styles, and understanding how they work together. She gained a great appreciation and education of design when she first moved to the desert and worked for the internationally esteemed interior designer Shannon Martin, known for her merging of textiles and light to match her client’s aesthetics. Tara’s favorite area of the house is the outdoor living space or the living room: wherever family and friends can get together to spend quality time.

She lives the active life, with two growing boys and on the tennis court herself five, sometimes six days a week. Although tennis is her way to relax and exercise, Tara does admit that she often mixes work with pleasure, engaging new clients while playing tennis.

You won’t have to read between the lines when you work with Tara; all her clients would say she is a straight shooter and very honest. It’s possible that sometimes she is a little too honest, but that will only work for her client’s benefits. Tara prefers to be open and trustworthy with everyone, as it allows her to “sleep well every night!”

Q: If you could change one thing about how real estate is transacted today, what would it be and why?
A: Without a doubt, it would be the way Agents treat other Agents. I always feel like we work against each together. We should all work together and be a team. That’s one reason why I was attracted to work at Nook (their new President Mark Hughes is another big one). Everyone at Nook understands that only by working closely and not feeling in competition, we will all rise together. That’s always been my ideal collaborative situation and that’s the environment I look forward to participating in at Nook.

Q: What's your favorite architectural style for homes and why?
A: The style in homes that catches my eye are Spanish style homes with wood beams inside and a pitched roof. If I lived on the East Coast, it would be Tudor style homes, or another more traditional style.

Q: If you could have a second home or a dream home (beyond your current home) where would it be and why?
A: Dana Point is my ideal second home. Some of my fondest memories are going to the beach every other weekend with my family/ I love how small the town feels, and their exciting new development will finally give all the potential of Dana Point the attention it deserves. I’ve known for years how breathtaking that area can be; now I get to share it with new buyers and visitors.
