Born in Northern California and raised in Southern California, Stephanie Woods earned a bachelor’s degree in World Arts and Cultures/Dance from UCLA. An architecture fan from an early age, Stephanie took one step onto UCLA’s campus and realized there was nowhere else she wanted to be. With a campus that spans fifty years of architectural innovation in Los Angeles, she found UCLA’s buildings and history captivating.
Stephanie’s early career was spent as a yoga instructor. She dedicated herself to learning as much as possible about this spiritual discipline and was fascinated by its rich history. While yoga and movement are still one of Stephanie’s main passions, her spiritual nature, interest in architecture and desire to connect with others in a meaningful way soon lead her to a career in real estate. She particularly enjoys empowering others by helping them find the lifestyle they are looking for.
In addition to yoga, Stephanie enjoys modern dance, aerial arts, eating healthy food (not cooking – she lets her amazing husband work his magic in the kitchen), reading, and all the outdoor pursuits California has to offer including hiking, camping, and relaxing at the beach. She also enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends.
With an exceptional ability to connect with her clients in a supportive and productive way, Stephanie’s fascination and expertise with historic architecture is something that sets her apart from many agents – she’s long been drawn to cities with rich histories and has lived in Venice Beach, Oakland and now Long Beach. She recognizes how important it is to clearly understand her clients’ requirements and is known for going above and beyond to help them reach their real estate goals. Whether they’re looking for a first home, an investment property, need to downsize or just want a bigger space, Stephanie loves to play such a large role in helping her clients open the next chapter in their lives.
More about Stephanie Woods in her own words:
Q: What excited you most about joining Nook?
A: I am excited for the opportunity to be part of a team of true experts. Here I can continue practicing my passion for and expertise in historic architecture. Nook is the only place where clients can find agents who truly have a specialty. The ability to search for a specific architecture and lifestyle a client is seeking is what I'm most interested in… and it's unique to Nook. I couldn't imagine a better team of experts to be a part of!
Q: Where do you live now and why do you love it?
A: I am so lucky to live in Long Beach. With 17 historic districts and over 120 designated historic sites, there is no better place to offer my knowledge and passion for historic architecture. I particularly enjoy all the art – from murals, street art and up-market gallery events to community artists, painted crosswalks and intricately painted fire hydrants, it’s a feast for the eyes! Long Beach, like many other seaside suburbs in California, has a vibrant waterfront scene and it’s got a really creative vibe – not to mention yoga, amazing people and great restaurants.
Q: What's your fondest memory of your childhood home?
A: Growing up, my two older sisters and I shared two bedrooms on the second story, and our bedroom windows faced each other. We used to do things like put a string with paper cups on each end hanging between the windows and talk to each other on our "phone." It didn't matter which part of the house we were in, we always found a way to be creative and enjoy each other’s company! I really enjoy helping families find homes and love imaging their children having similar experiences. My best memories from the home in which we grew up are the many hilarious moments with my sisters.
Q: What's your favorite room in your house and why?
A: Our living room is just heaven. It’s got all the ingredients for relaxing and enjoying life to the fullest – a clean aesthetic, floods of natural light, a peaceful and roomy yoga corner, glorious sunset views, a comfortable sofa, and when we time it just right… my husband!
