A bit more about Darren, in his own words:

Q: Why are you passionate about real estate?
A: Real estate represents so many things – shelter, opportunity, home, transformation, and design. I am passionate about spaces that not only provide basic shelter, but also evoke emotion and a sense of place that matches their environment. When I look at the low slung roofs in the desert, the heavy timbers of a snow-covered cabin, or the versatile indoor outdoor living spaces of the West Coast, I am inspired.

Q: What’s your favorite room in your house and why?
A: My favorite room in my house is the living room. It is center of our home and a place for relaxing, enjoying a fire or TV show, and enjoying conversations. To me, it represents family.

Q: Where do you live now and why do you love it?
A: I live in a Craftsman style home in Laguna Beach that is settled at the base of a canyon and surrounded by a running creek and huge eucalyptus trees. Our home feels like an intimate getaway from our busy town, and I love feeling like we live in the woods while still being a three-minute drive from the ocean. It’s the best of both worlds.

Q: If you could have a second home or a dream home (beyond your current home) where would it be and why?
A: I would love to have a home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which is renowned for its incredible homes and breathtaking mountain beauty. And if money were no object, I know my wife would love an apartment in New York City or Paris.
