This year the conference takes place June 6-8 and the A'19 theme is, Blueprint for a Better Future.

The more than 150 seminars run the educational gamut, covering everything from the history of the fire escape to how to grow an architecture firm. Another interesting seminar, Engineering Wonders: Hoover Dam & Mike O'Callahan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, delves into the makings of one of the most impressive engineering feats in the world. Attendees will soak in views from the Memorial Bridge before venturing down to the Hoover Dam to learn about its history and tour the power plant located 530 feet down into the dam.

In addition to endless seminars, there are a ton of different tours you can take to learn more about local architecture and design. For example, the Aria Resort & Casino Tour covers the programming, planning, design, and operational considerations for the only LEED-Gold-certified integrated resort on the Las Vegas Strip. You can also take a bike tour, Biking Las Vegas, which focuses on master planned developments like Fremont East, the Container Park, and Symphony Park.

Another cool tour, Sacred Spaces: The History, the Industry, the Architecture, the Art, takes you through sacred sites in Las Vegas and examines their unique architectural and design aspects. For instance, you’ll tour the Guardian Angel Cathedral, designed by Paul Williams, and learn about its A-frame mid-century style while beholding its beautiful, Isabel Piczek-designed stained windows.
