Ryan Doxey is so passionate about real estate that sometimes he’ll unwind from a full dayhelping his clients by looking at even more real estate online, often properties that havenothing to do with his market: office buildings, boutique hotels or homes outside of his NookNeighborhoods. We are all unique andhave different desires and goals, and if you really listen to people you get to know what is reallyimportant to them and when you are in sync with their needs and working together to findthem solutions, there’s nothing better.Q: Where do you live now and why do you love it?A: I live in Turtle Rock in Irvine. Newport Beach and Irvine are such beautiful areas. If you lovearchitecture, we are blessed with so many gorgeous homes of a wide variety of architecturalstyles. As a young family with two young children and one on the way, my wife and I lovewhere we live. There are great schools, lots of parks to take our kids, and scenic views anywhereyou look, like Bommer Canyon, Shady Canyon and the hills around Turtle Rock. The locationalso makes it so easy to get into Newport Beach, the 405 freeway, or to the UCI and JohnWayne Airport areas. As someone who runs 4-6 times a week, you can’t beat these trails thatare just a half mile from my house. One of the best things about Turtle Rock is that is just feelsa world apart from the other parts of the county, more rural and natural in a way. At home, weprobably spend 90% of our time in our open concept family room/kitchen. With 2 little kidsthere is always a lot of activity and someone is always eating, so we can all be together in there.Q: If you could have a second home, where would it be and why?A: Palm Springs or La Quinta - I love the desert where you can enjoy the day by the pool andwarm evenings out. The best part is being so close to Orange County you can go for theweekend on a whim and pack a bag, load up the car and invite family or friends.Q: What's your favorite architectural style for homes and why?A: It depends on the location - I love the transitional farmhouse that has gained popularity, but ifit is on the sand I like a more contemporary/modern home, whereas in the desert I love mid-century modern, and on the harbor I like a more eastern seaboard traditional style, but I alsolike a spanish/Santa Barbara style. My love of a variety of styles is another reason I’m sure thatNook and I are a good fit.
