BIOGRAPHY

Long before agent Katie Hughes considered getting in the real estate business, she began learning the basics from her grandmother. The duo would browse homes on the MLS, view properties for her clients, and Katie loved when she had the opportunity to visit model homes. After years of quietly observing her grandmother’s open houses, Katie witnessed firsthand the importance of attentive, personalized service — an ability that sets her apart today as one of the industry’s most conscientious professionals.

Katie brings these core beliefs to Nook Real Estate as well as a proven track record of keeping clients’ best interest at heart. Prior to joining Nook Real Estate, Katie enjoyed a successful tenure at leading real estate brokerages including Surterre Properties and RE/MAX Prestige. Katie is currently affiliated with Newport Partners and will earn distinction as a Certified Negotiation Expert in spring 2016.

Born and raised in Orange County, Katie is an aficionado of all things OC, and in her free time she enjoys exercising, trying new restaurants, biking to the beach, and riding horses.

A bit more about Katie, in her own words:

Q: Why are you passionate about real estate?
A: Real estate is almost an obsession for me, and I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals during the buying and selling process. Buying or selling a home can be a stressful experience, and my goal is to help clients see that the real estate process is exciting – and can even be enjoyable. The connections I make and the people I meet are what drives me. It is so rewarding when my clients are happy!

Q: What is your favorite neighborhood in OC and why?
A: I adore Eastside Costa Mesa. I love the diversity of homes, and each street has so much unique character! Eastside Costa Mesa is close to wonderful shopping and dining, and the neighborhood has such a warm, friendly feeling that is indescribable! 

Q: What's your fondest memory of your childhood home?
A: My fondest memory of my childhood home is our neighborhood, which was full of families with kids my age. Growing up, my sister and I had a blast playing with friends until the streetlights came on, and we enjoyed many family BBQ's with our neighborhood. 

Q: If you could change one thing about your home what would it be and why?
A: If I could change one thing about my home, I would love to have a bigger backyard with grass so my dog could have more room to run around and play.
